2012 Internasionale Onder-19 Rugby

Three French teams and three South African teams of Under-19 players are to take part in a tournament with matches in Bosmont and Rustenburg.

The tournament, run in conjunction with the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund and the French South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was started by the Jules Verne French School in Johannesburg which invites three local teams and three regional teams from France to play rugby and strengthen cultural ties. This will be the fourth such tournament. After the first two events in South Africa (Johannesburg, Soweto, Parkhurst and Konka camp) , the third tournament took place in the French region of Languedoc in 2011.

In 2011, the participating South African teams were the Golden Lions from Johannesburg (for the 3rd time) and the Raiders from Bosmont (for the second). The participating French teams were Languedoc, Provence-Alpes Côte d’Azur and Rhône-Alpes. For the first time, the tournament welcomed a new country last year - the under 20 national team of Russia. Languedoc won with the Golden Lions second. The Raiders came forth.

This year the participating teams will be Languedoc, Provence-Alpes Côte d’Azur and Rhône- Alpes from France and  the Golden Lions, the Raiders and the Blue Bulls from South Africa. The tournament will run from 6-15 April with matches in Bosmont and at Konka near Rustenburg.
